We Remember
UMPHERVILLE, Kody Stewart
September 4, 1975 — May 11, 2024
With broken hearts and deep sadness, we announce the passing of Kody Umpherville suddenly at the age of 48 on May 11, 2024.
Kody was born in Kelowna on September 4, 1975. Following graduation from Kelowna Senior Secondary, Kody received a baseball scholarship to Centralia College in Washington state. He finished his education at UBC, returning to Kelowna and starting his career with Canada Post. Kody married the love of his life Jessica on March 4, 2000, and together they raised their only daughter Jennaia. As a gifted athlete, Kody continued his passion for sports, pursuing cycling, tennis, snowboarding, hockey, golf, and most recently excelling at pickle ball.
Kody will be deeply missed by his wife Jessica; daughter Jennaia (Reese); his mother Bunny Blaquiere (Al); sister Connie (William); step-brother Danny (Kim); step-sister Christine; brother-in-law Stacey (Gladys); and sister-in-law Diane (Dale); as well as his nieces and nephews Mitch (Robyn), Mike (Shannon), George (Juliet), Brian (Candice), Bijou, Harlow and Nico. Kody was predeceased by his father, Terry Umpherville.
Kody was blessed his entire life with many friends. Those who were among his closest friends enjoyed long and deep relationships that spanned the years. These truly were extraordinary friendships, and he will be deeply missed. In addition, Kody touched countless others through his varied sports endeavours, his community involvement and his career at Canada Post. He enjoyed each aspect of his life, and so loved those he called his friends.
Kody’s memory will endure in all those who knew him. He was a loving husband, a caring dad, a compassionate son, brother, uncle, and friend. There was so very much more living Kody wanted to do – and so many who wanted to share all of that with him. We are so very sad he’s passed away, and he will be so profoundly missed.
“In the end it’s not the years in your life that count
Its’s the life in your years.”
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Kody’s honour to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.

To Jessica, Jennaia, Bunny, Al and families,
Our sincere condolences to Kody’s family and friends. We are so sorry for your loss.
I knew Kody from school. I think Elelmentary, but definitely high school. We weren’t friends ds, but his death has left me thinking how fragile life is and how someone so fit and full of life himself could just be taken out of this world. I wish I knew you better Kody. RIP
I just found out today of your loss. Cody was my super when he first started at the post office. We had lots of fun breaking him into the job. He took it well. Great happy guy he was in all situations. The best boss one could have.
I’m so sorry for your loss Jessica. I just found out today. May God wrap his arms around you all during this very difficult time. Sending my love to you all.
