Mabel and Bill were wonderful friends of our family and I have many fond childhood memories of them. Mabel was such a great help to my mother when my sister was suffering from terminal Leukemia in 1949, something my mom never forgot. I was so sorry to hear of Mabels passing and send heartfelt condolences to her family from ours.
The attached picture is of Mabel holding me with my sister Joan on the left and Lucy Shirai on the right. Our old Hudson Terraplane in the background.
Mabel was the sweetest most gracious lady any neighbours could wish for. Now as we look up across our terraces & gardens to Mabel’s empty chair, we fondly remember our last conversation together at the end of summer, sharing garden tales, and chiding her beloved cat Tammy. We’ll miss the chats, the smiles & waves, but hope like us the family will have many happy Mabel memories
