—
Born January 18, 1934 and passed away on June 12, 2013 at the age of 79. Survived by his loving wife Erika of almost 60 years; four sons: Peter, Fred (Gaby) and their children: Philip, Mario and Raoul; Gordon and Allan; brother Franz Zimmermann (Annelise) and sister Aloisia Schaefer (Horst). Henry was an active and busy person. He worked for 32 years at Inland Cement in Edmonton. Henry was owner of the German Magazine Agency (Lesezirkel Zimmermann); his specialty was selling advertising. In his leisure time, he enjoyed Lake Nakamun. Henry’s dream of retiring in the Okanagan came true and also spent his winters in Yuma, Arizona. In his last three years, he treasured his time at Missionwood Retirement Resort and loved all the wonderful friendly people there. A special thank you from the family to the Palliative Care Program, the nurses at Kelowna General Hospital and the staff at the Missionwood Retirement Resort. Henry embraced life and everyone around him. His loving sense of humour and kind heart made everyone feel special. Dear Erika,
I am thinking of you at this time, and wanted to tell you that Henry brightened my day whenever I saw him. He was always so happy and caring and kind.
