The is our Reception Hall, which I feel to be one of the most important rooms in our building.
There is a real transition that takes place from the ceremony – where we have said goodbye, we have taken stock of the person’s role in our lives, the influence and how they have changed and affected us, and given thanks for that – coming here to the Reception Hall, it’s almost like there is a switch that’s been flicked – it’s that new sense of “what’s next?”.
Funerals are a unique time in our lives and in our community. It’s when friends, family come around to support the person who has had a loss. Nowhere is that more evidenced than at the reception. The sharing of stories in an intimate manner, the hugs, the tears that I see happen. There’s hardly a time in our lives where there’s more of a connected time than occurs here.
Here at Springfield Funeral Home, having all of our services under one roof, allows us to seamlessly transition you also to the reception. We can look after all the details, if you desire.
We have some families who like to be a little more hands-on and have friends and themselves help with the reception. We have no problem with that, and even encourage it.
