We Remember

LA, Quang Thanh
—
March 10, 1941 – August 13, 2021
With much sadness, the family of Quang Thanh La announced our beloved brother and uncle, age 80, passed away after a long battle with cancer at his home in Kelowna, BC on Friday, August 13, 2021. His sisters and brother were at his side.
Born on March 10, 1941, in Haiphong, Vietnam, Thanh with his brothers and sisters together with their parents settled in Kelowna, BC in 1980. A kind and gentle soul, Thanh never married. He was stubborn with a heart of gold. He worked at The Greenery during the 1980s and eventually retired when the business relocated. In his later years, Thanh had the thirst for learning and reading as many books as he could.
He was predeceased by his parents, Nien Nhan La and Thien Phuc Ngo, and youngest sister, Kien “Deborah” La. He is survived by his remaining siblings Ngan La (Truong), Chu La, Ich La, and Minh La; his nieces and nephews; and grandnieces and grandnephews.
The family would like to thank his palliative nurses that provide his care with kindness, understanding, and compassion in helping Thanh through his final months.
A private Burial Service will be held at Kelowna Memorial Cemetery.
