We Remember

BEAUREGARD, Jean

December 24, 1958 — July 19, 2018

Born in Prince George, BC on Dec. 24, 1958, Jean left us suddenly but peacefully in Kelowna on July 19, 2018 at the ripe young age of 59. Pre-deceased by his parents Alfred & Rollande, as well as his brother Edmond, Jean leaves behind his sister Doris, his brothers Pierre & Leo (Linda), his nieces Michelle & Alexandria, his wife Lori and his beloved pets Octavia, Obie & Nylee.

Jean graduated from Immaculata High School in 1976. He went on to become a Journeyman Electrician which took him to places like The Darlington Nuclear Plant in Bowmanville, ON as well as Ruby Lake, Port Melon, Squamish & Burnaby, BC. He also took many courses over the years at BCIT & other institutions to upgrade his credentials.

His home base, however, was always Kelowna. He worked for Okanagan Heating & Air Conditioning for many years while adding Gas Fitter Certifications to his resume. In 2012, he started his own business called BIT Electrical and Gasfitting LTD. His goal was to provide green energy solutions with safe equipment upgrades to heating & electrical control systems. He was slowly moving off the grid with his solar panels & wind turbine on his own home.

But Jean lived for the weekends so he could drag race at Thunder Mountain. He started by racing his 1977 – 650 Kawasaki Chopper and then, graduated to his dragster “The Bare Necessities.” His penchant for experimentation led him to modify his dragster by adding a Harley Davidson engine to the Chevy engine resulting in the “Chev-Harley” that never failed to put on a show!

The past few years were spent posting U-Tube Videos that featured Thunder Mountain events & experiments with 3D Technology. He also enjoyed researching the Beauregard family history in his spare time. His latest hobby was building cool, electric bicycles that took him wherever he wanted to go.
