My sincere condolences to Helen and all your family. John & I go way back in the sheet metal trade. I apprenticed with John in 1976. He was a great sheet metal journeyman. Although he gave me all the dirty jobs, journeymen were hard on apprentices back then and like to play practical jokes. I remember one incident, I had long hair at the time, so they wrestled me down and put my hair in the metal brake for bending metal. I was trapped there and they left me there with a pair of snips and said if I wanted to get out I’d have to cut my hair. Well, thats what happened and they couldn’t stop laughing and teasing me. Over the years, we had lots of laughs together. You will be missed John…

I cannot express enough how when a relationship does not work out, it is not an automatic emotional shut down of feelings regarding those extended family members now left behind… I loved John (dad) , for 19+ years I had the privilege of calling him Dad…thank you for opening up your family to me and allowing for me to take those memories with me!! I love you Dad xo…RIP …My sincerest condolences to Helen, Mike and Dennis and their families…

Helen – so very sad to read about John. I know when I saw you at KGH afew months ago – that you stated that things were not well. May PEACE be with you and your family at this sad time. I still cherish our working together at Regatta Press. That was so many years ago but we sure had some fun. Take care of yourself. Would love to meet you for coffee sometimes when you are up to it. Big hugs to you and I am thinking abo0ut you. iris
