We Remember

JOHNSON, Paul L.

Paul L. Johnson lost his battle with pancreatic cancer on January 13. He is survived by daughters Kirsten Brown (Scott Brown), Erica Plater (Chad Plater), Laura Furness (Cory Furness). His daughters as well as the love of his life, his wife of 45 years, Jessie, and his treasured brother Brian Johnson (Jeanne Harvey) were by his side. Paul always lived life to the fullest, he had an amazing sense of humour and quick wit. He was thrilled to welcome Lori Samuels and Jay Dowhaniuk to his Investment practice 11 years ago and he said it was the best business decision he ever made. His favourite places were The Turks and Caicos Islands, Maui and his beloved cabin at Idabel Lake. Paul loved his work as an Investment Advisor at Raymond James and served on many boards over the years. His grandchildren were his pride and joy, Owen and Seth Plater, Keegan and Griffin Brown and Bronwyn and Wyatt Furness. A celebration of his life will be held Monday, January 18, 2016 at Springfield Funeral Home at 1:00pm with a short reception afterwards. We want to send our sincere condolences to Paul Johnson’s family. We didn’t realize when someone ordered a gift basket from Discover Wines for you, who it was that had passed. He will be dearly missed. I personally enjoyed the challenge of finding Paul just the right wine as he was very vocal and particular about what he liked (and didn’t like!), all while wanting it to be a good deal. He put us to task, all while smiling. We will miss his visits. Our thoughts are with your family. Tracy Gray
