We Remember

JUROME, William (Bill) Bradley

April 22, 1930 — March 29, 2018

William Bradley (Bill) Jurome passed away peacefully March 29, 2018, at the age of 87. He is predeceased by his first wife of 50 years Eleanor (Lea) Jurome, his brothers Alex Jurassovich, Edward Jurome and sister Mary Henning.  Bill is survived by his second wife, Brenda, his three children Narda (Steve), David (Glennys), Collier and his seven grandchildren Devin (Britany), Bailey (Alyson), Brayden, Cassandra, Jaxon, Jayda and Jarvis and one special great grandchild Anneke.

Bill was born in Kelowna and raised on a fruit farm in the Belgo District. He lived his life to the fullest, pursuing his many passions including: fishing, boating, hiking, skiing, photography and painting.  As a landscape artist in the Okanagan Valley, he took great pride in sharing his talents with his children and grandchildren.  He touched the lives of many through his various careers as a fruit grower of apples, cherries and grapes, journeyman electrician, publisher, real estate agent and land developer.  Bill contributed to his community and was involved in many land developments in the early days of Rutland, Black Mountain and the Joe Rich area.

As a family man, he was loving and compassionate. Throughout his life, his family enjoyed countless hours of boating and swimming with friends on the Okanagan Lake.  Many summers were also spent exploring and cruising the west coast shores of BC, winters were spent south of the border hiking desert canyons and trails.  There was no slowing Bill down, once he had an idea, his positive outlook, combined with his focus and drive, enabled him to successfully accomplish many of his goals.  Bill was a man of his word, with high standards and integrity.  He will be so greatly missed by his family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Central Okanagan Hospice House.

David, Narda, Collier and families…..my thoughts are with you on the loss of your dad. So glad I had a visit with him before his passing. Bill was a very special man, and will always be remembered.

  • Chuck says:

Hi Narda, David, Collier, Brenda and your families. I cannot express my sadness in loosing my good friend Bill. Since meeting Lea and him on Silver Star in the 1970s we have spent many an adventure together through life. With his generosity he taught me boating, fishing, clamming. His gentle persuasion eventually had me leave policing to become a Commercial realtor. This finally gave me a chance to pay back only a small bit of all your family’s generosity. He was always full of life and the first off my boat to dig clams right up to last year. I will truly miss having his gin martinis and clam chowder with him. He is still the best!

  • Donna Scott says:
