We Remember

MARTIN, June

Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at the age of 87. Survived by her family: daughter Dawn; sons Terry (Grace), Myles (Shelley); four grandchildren: Jay, Michol, Brock, Cameron; five great grandchildren: Tye, Cruz, Sunni, Berkeley, Slayter; two brothers Darryl (Shary), Dan; nephews Darren and Jason as well as her extended family. Predeceased by her husband Leonard and sister Erliss. June lived her life in grace and was a light in this world. Her favourite word was “Joy” and she truly lived it and brought that to everyone she met. June always said she was too blessed to be stressed. We are all better people having had her in our lives. She truly was a gift! The family wishes to acknowledge and thank all the staff at Cottonwoods Extended Health Care for their loving care given to June during her stay there. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 20th at 10:00 am at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC, with Dr. Gordon Fletcher officiating. Interment to follow in Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the N.A.B. Missions, c/o Trinity Baptist Church, 1905 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC, V1Y 7V7.     I first met June in Edmonton Ab. when we both worked at the Bay-=1952, she worked in lingerie and I in cosmetics. We met again in 1980 at the Bay in Kelowna. I thought the world of her.xx When she retired we all attended her party at the Kelowna Golf &Country Club & met her family. I’m not able to attend on Monday,I send my thoughts to you all.     Dawn, Terry Myles and their Families, Very sadden to hear of June’s passing, My condolences goes out to all of you as you are going through this most difficult time now and weeks and months ahead. June was a very special part of my life as we worked together at the Bay and when she retired I alway stayed in touch with her especially on our Birthdays as they were in the same month. She was a inspiration to all of us to knew her. My she RIP as I will miss her dearly.
