We Remember

NEWTON, Dennis Ross

March 30, 1943 — June 18, 2018

Longtime Kelowna resident and devoted family man Dennis Newton passed away on June 18, 2018 at the age of 75. Dennis leaves to mourn his wife of 52 years Barbara (nee Bohn); daughter Susan; son David (Jodi); granddaughters Madi, Alli and Brooke and grand dog Zoe. Dennis is also survived by his siblings Gloria (Jack) Johal of Kelowna, Allan (Carol) of Cochrane, Brian (Elaine) of Victoria; sister-in-law Sandra of West Kelowna and their families. Sadly, Dennis was predeceased by his brother Arden in 2017.

Dennis was born in Regina, Saskatchewan to David and Jean Newton, the 1st of their 5 children. He was a hard-working man, with a 41-year career at the local sawmill, having been employed there from age 16 until his early retirement at the age of 58. During his retirement, Dennis enjoyed working for Budget Cars, spending time with his granddaughters and grand dog, going for walks and drinking coffee at Tim’s with his friends. He also loved fly fishing and animals of all kind. Those who knew Dennis will remember him as never being short of stories: his favorite topics were growing up in Kelowna, his granddaughters, grand dog Zoe and his job at Budget. Dennis was a fighter and he fought until the end.

We wish to thank all our family and friends for your support during Dennis’ final illness.

In respect for Dennis’ wishes, no service will be held.
