We Remember

OISHI, Mieko

February 27, 1929 — August 8, 2018

It is with our deepest sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Mieko on August 8, 2018 surrounded by her family.  She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 63 years, Kenji and her sons: Robert (Elayne), Doug (Marge) and Larry (Lori); she will be forever missed by her grandchildren: Colin (Jennifer), Melissa (Claus), Troy, Rylee, Kobe; her great granddaughter Evelyn; her brothers John (Judy), Frank (Kiku), Ernest (Dale); sister Eileen (Bert); brother-in-law Toe; sister-in-law Grace and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her parents, granddaughter Teegan, sister Tasco and brothers Eddie and Sus (Alice).  Mieko was born and raised in Kelowna growing up in a farming family and continuing that tradition with Ken and their boys.  Ken and Mieko were loved throughout the community and, if you spent any time with them, whether it was buying vegetables, helping out at a church function or running into them at the grocery store, they would always put a smile on your face.  We are all so proud and grateful for our wonderful parents and their boys are such a reflection of them both.  Mom has left a huge imprint on our hearts and will be loved and missed forever.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at 10:00 am at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Kelowna General Hospital Foundation, 2268 Pandosy Street, Kelowna, BC V1Y 1T2.
