We Remember

LWOWSKI, Steven Wayne

Steve passed away at home surrounded by his family on July 22, 2018 following a courageous battle with cancer. He was 65 years old. He is survived by his wife Brenda; children, Kevin (Angela), Tracey, Curtis (Kailey); grandchildren Derek, Jeff, Jenna, Asher, Grady; parents, Jack and Veronica; siblings, David, Dan (Darl), Bernard, Mark (Julie), Cathy (Glenn) and several nieces and nephews.
Steve was born in North Vancouver on June 11, 1953. His family moved to Kelowna in 1960, first to the Mission area, then settling in Rutland in 1967. He spent most of his truck driving career at OK Ready Mix. Steve loved fishing, hunting, travelling, spending time at his Shuswap getaway … as well as road trips in his RV. Most of all, Steve loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. He was extremely proud of all of them.
He will be greatly missed!
His family wishes to thank all of his doctors, nurses, volunteers and home support workers for their care and compassion during his illness.

  • Diane Rieger-Syrnyk says:

Although I am away from BC and unable to attend the service for Steve my heart and thoughts are with the Lwowski family. It was always a joy to see Steve coming up the hill to our place, usually on “Ginny” and I always eagerly anticipated our horse races up to towers ranch. (Thanks Steve for letting me win sometimes). Steve had a special kindness about him and I soon come to consider him a beloved brother. Although we didn’t see each other much in our adult lives I did think of him often and he remained in my heart a cherished friend. I am deeply saddened to know he is gone. I grieve for his family’s loss.
    Diane Rieger-Syrnyk
