Our wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother Johanna passed away peacefully on November 20, 2019 at the age of 100. We feel fortunate to have spent the last days by her side. Though deeply saddened by her loss, we know that she is in heavenly peace.
Having moved in 1976 from Wolfsburg, Germany with her husband and youngest son to the sunny Okanagan, Johanna made Kelowna her new home. She embraced life to the fullest learning to drive and swim at age 65.
Johanna enjoyed gardening, especially tending to her roses, baking and cooking for family and friends, and spending countless hour working on crosswords and embroidery. We will always remember her amazing black forest cakes, playing spirited games of Aggravation, and her mental sharpness.
We will dearly miss her calm nature and gentle soul.
Johanna was predeceased by her husband, Emil. She is survived by her three sons, Horst, Heinz (Edith) and Klaus (Jacquie), her 5 grandchildren and their families and 5 great grandchildren.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Adrian Morris and the nursing staff at Mountainview Village for the care given to Johanna these past years.
