On behalf of the Tailor Family, with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Meerali, a beloved daughter, granddaughter, niece, sister, cousin, and friend, who left this world too soon on March 7, 2024, at the age of 22.
Meerali was a radiant light in the lives of all who knew her. She had a kind heart, was hardworking, and gave an endless amount of love to the ones that she cared about.
We will miss you Meerali, and will cherish the beautiful memories that we all have of you. You will forever be in our hearts. We love you.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 10:00 AM (PST), at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC. If you are unable to attend in person, please join her family online by Livestream at the time of the service (see below), a recording will be made available to view shortly thereafter.

I have had the sincere pleasure of working with Meerali at KMTC this past year. We usually worked opposite times of each other but I always enjoyed our short interactions and discussions. Meerali would meet you with that bright beautiful smile. I would ask how school and her exams were going, she would answer with a big smile, even when she was under a great deal of pressure. She was so positive, diligent and kind – always took a genuine interest in your life, taking time to chat. I can’t begin to express how deeply sorry I am for your loss. I am heartsick to think how she was so tragically taken with the best yet to come. I hope that you may find some comfort in knowing how much of a positive impact Meerali made on the many lives she’s touched. Rest in Peace sweet Meerali, you will be so deeply missed.

Meerali is such a beautiful person inside and out. She was always so kind to everyone at school and I loved having her in my English class. I admired her close friendship with Goali; they were always so supportive of each other. I still remember the first time Brinda walked into my classroom, I knew she was Meerali’s little sister before I even knew her name. They had a special bond and you could feel the love between them when they spoke about each other. I am so sorry for your loss. Meerali will live in the hearts of her teachers forever.

Words cannot express the sadness I feel in my heart for the loss of our beloved Meerali. Meerali was always someone I looked up to and felt inspired by. The way Brinda always talked so lovingly and proudly of her sister, made me see Meerali as my role model. I never had an older sister but through Brinda’s stories of Meerali, it felt as if she was my sister too. Meerali was such a kind-hearted, beautiful soul. I remember just a few years back she came to our house to visit us. I could see how much she had matured and grown. The way she spoke in fluent Hindi with my mother, despite Gujurati being her first language,
left me in awe. Meerali was always such an inspiration, and will continue to be an inspiration in my life. She will always be missed. She will live through us and our memories of her forever. You all are not alone through this grieving process. We are always going to be here to support you. Much love. Om Shanti 🙏
