We Remember

THIMER, Cameron Lyle

November 8, 1973 — October 8, 2016

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the sudden passing of Cameron Thimer on October 8th, 2016 at the young age of 42. He will be lovingly remembered by his mother Bonnie, daughter Crimson, son Mason, numerous relatives and close dear friends.  Cameron was predeceased by his brother Darin and father Ron.

Cam was born in Stony Plain, Alberta, on November 8th, 1973 and spent his younger years on a dairy farm near St. Albert, Alberta.  When Cam was 14, his family moved and continued to enjoy a rural life on an orchard in Winfield, BC.  After graduating from George Elliot High, Cam discovered an interest in irrigation.  Eventually his roots took him back to Alberta to work in the oilfield, on and off.  His passion lead him throughout the years to the gym and body building.  He had a great love for cars, motorbikes, and trucks.  He was a gentle giant who stood proud and tall in good times and in bad.  He was everyone’s “big” brother and always lent a helping hand.  He was a kid at heart and he loved unconditionally.

As a courtesy, we ask that each and every one of you please take a moment and reflect on the memories you have of Cam, and hold them close to your heart…

RIP son, dad, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, dear friend – we will love you forever.

In lieu of flowers a memorial donation in Cam’s honour can be made to a charity of choice.

I was just thinking it had been a lot longer than usual since we spoke. 6 months. When a friend told me my wife about your passing. You were a great man. And a real positive role model to a young man. I met Cam at the gym. And spent countless mornings with him training. And some afternoons cruising cars with him. Truly a great man. And a gentle giant is the best way to describe him. A very kind a caring guy. Rest in peace my friend. Gone. But not forgotten.
