Loosing a child a brother is something no one wants to endure. Life has a way of taking you places you don’t want to go. We just muddle through and learn to cope and carry on. That’s what we do we carry on with life. Ryan would want that for you all.

You have been on my mind daily, I am so very sorry for your loss. I can’t imagine the roller coaster of emotions that you are going through. You did an excellent job of raising your son and I know you did everything in your power to help Ryan through his difficult times. I felt very honoured to be able to see and listen to Ryan’s celebration of life. Geri did a wonderful job and you are so fortunate to have such a special friend in your life. You know what a special man Ryan was and I hope the remarks made by the colleagues and friends he made in treatment will help bring you peace.
I will never experience the profound sadness that you have now, but know my heart and hugs go out to you and wish I could take just a bit of that pain away.
I need you to take care of yourselves. Lean on one another, reach out to others and accept that your family and friends will be there for you. Your family is a wonderful example of love and compassion.

Ryan was such a stand up guy…so much character, even when we were just in High School. Always fun to be around and always by your side when it mattered…just like Cody. To Ryan’s family, my wife Chelsea and I are truly sorry for your loss. So sorry.

Just found out today about the tragic death or Ryan. My most vivid memories with him are goofing in the hockey dressing room, Ryan usually at the centre of the story, spreading laughs and good times with the boys. A young life lost. I have just found out that Ryan has gone. I am so sorry. I thought the world of him and could see a great future for him when the oilfield picked up again. I was with Ryan in Greenland and he impressed me so much, that I had always thought that one day he would work with me. I was hoping that would be soon. I am sure he’ll be there in spirit for me now.
