VAN DE GROEP, Jeff

Jeff passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on November 5, 2018 at the age of 52. He is survived by his loving family: daughter Danielle Van de Groep; mother Lana Van de Groep (Hannan); and sister Jodi Van de Groep. Jeff is predeceased by father Abraham Van de Groep in 2017, and Lana’s partner Patrick in 2014.

Jeff was born in Edmonton, AB and moved to Kelowna with his family when he was 7 years old. He spent his working life in construction, spending the last 18 years working at OK Builders. He enjoyed the outdoor Okanagan lifestyle with his many friends and was always helpful. He also enjoyed the challenge of tinkering with electronics of any kind. He will be dearly missed.

A Celebration of Life will take place in the Spring of 2019. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jeff’s name to the Canadian Diabetes Association, www.diabetes.ca.

    I’m saddened to hear of Jeff’s passing. He was truly a gentle giant. He was one of the guys that taught me how to drive truck and operate a crane and I still feed my family with those skills. RIP Big Guy!
