We Remember

PLOWMAN, Dorothy Kathleen

September 19, 1948 — July 15, 2014

(known as “Cat” Plowman)

September 19, 1948 – July 15, 2014

Cat passed away very suddenly but without pain in her own home on July 15th 2014 from coronary artery disease at the young age of 65. She was predeceased by her Mother Lillian, her Father Jack Bakewell and recently, her beloved cat and companion Mowee.

She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her daughter Jeyna Plowman, her son Laren Plowman and her sister Dianne Caroll. She will also be missed dearly by her close friends.

Cat was the most fun-loving, free-spirited individual you could ever hope to meet. She cared passionately about animals, nature and the fate of our planet. Her inquisitive nature led her to many forms of self-research concerning the mysteries of our universe. She also possessed many talents such as gardening and poetry. When you met Cat, you felt the amazing light she gave to this world.

From a young age Cat fell in love and spent most of her years up to early adulthood training and riding horses. Her talent won her many ribbons and trophies from numerous horse shows in Alberta. The holidays of her youth were spent camping with her family as well as enjoying Sunday drives exploring the Foothills in Alberta with her sister and parents. She also enjoyed whole day horseback rides with her sister.

Eventually, her caring nature led her career path into nursing until she married and had two children. Much like her own childhood, weekends were reserved for camping and exploring the back roads with her children and husband. Her passion and love for adventure, animals and the outdoors carried on till the end.

A “Celebration of Life” will be held at the Cedar Court Hall, 10230 Bottom Wood Lake Road, Winfield BC on Thursday, September 11th at 3:00 pm.
