Kristen Porrelli passed away suddenly at the age of 22 in Vancouver on July 3, 2014. She is survived by her parents Barry and Laurie, and her loving brother Jordan. She also leaves her Nonna and Nonno, Elso and Bruna Vizzutti; Gramma, Ruth Porrelli; Uncles, Gord Vizzutti (Patricia) and Bryan Porrelli (Karen); Aunt, Judy Watson (Mike); and her cousins Daniel (Carrie), Ryder, Kenzie and Desiree.
And her puppy Bella, the love of her life.
Kristen lived life to the fullest. She was a tremendous athlete whose compassion always shined on whether assisting at an orphanage in Haiti after the earthquake, as a candy striper at the hospital, or volunteering at a Society for the terminally ill in downtown Vancouver.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 10th at 11:00 am at Emmanuel Church, 2600 Hebert Road, West Kelowna, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kristen’s name to the Kelowna Food Bank or Woman’s Shelter. My first memories of Kristen were when I coached her in youth soccer when she was just 6 years old and had the pleasure of coaching Kristen for several years thereafter. She was a also a team mate with our daughter Lindsey in club volleyball and a partner in several beach volleyball competitions.
Kristen was an incredible athlete and a very passionate person whom cared very much for her family and friends.
We will all miss her and her beautiful smile.

Dear Laurie,Barry,And Jorden. I remember the first time I met Kristy. I was pregnant with Kenzie. Kenzie often spoke of how much she loved and admired Kristy. I remember Kristen when she worked at the gym I used to go to. She was the nicest person. On top of that, she was as beautiful a young woman that you would ever see.
I was hoping that this was a different person than young woman I remembered working at that gym, but sadly it is exactly that person. This is horrible news for me to hear. I can’t imagine how hard this is for her family. I just don’t know what to say.
