  • Barb (and Darcy) Funk (previously Lange) says:

Hey there, this is Barb, Uncle Gerhard’s niece. I remember very clearly as a child, in the midst of a family gathering uncle Gerhard would get on his hands and knees and roughhouse and play with us till we laughed and screamed. We would happily clamber up on his back and he would make some crazy animal noises and join us in our world for a while. Inevitably when he would get tired, he would lay down right on the floor where he was and take a nap while we played around him. One thing that I feel had not changed about him through the years were those big blue eyes that looked at you with kindness and his wide smile that invited you to share about yourself. Later on when I got married, the first to come into my mind to marry us was uncle Gerhard but because of the distance between us we agreed that it would be somewhat difficult . But he dropped what he was doing and flew down anyway so he could say a few words (actually not so few 🙂 ) at our wedding. I will never forget his kindness and the love of God that he showed to those around him. We are all blessed to have known him! My deepest condolences, with much love Barb

  • Helga Rattai says:

Sorry for your loss, our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family. Gerald and Helga

  • Karen and Jack Culver says:

Our heart felt sympathies. We did not know the Reverend but have come to know Ed and Jamie here on Roatan. Ed is a loving, hardworking man and we are sure received those qualities from his father.

  • Kim and Wayne Collens says:

So sorry to hear of the loss of your father, grandfather and husband. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

  • Grace and Bevin Breitkreuz says:

We were saddened to hear of Onkel Gerhard’s passing, but also relieved to know that he did not have to suffer long. Grace fondly remembers times spent with her uncle during her childhood, and always felt he really cared and really listened, when he spoke with people. Our condolences to all my cousins and the rest of the family. Grace Breitkreuz (Lange) (niece Of Onkel Gerhard) and Bevin and family.

  • Gabriele Dettweiler says:

Tante Bruni know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. May you feel God’s comfort, strength and peace at this time and the days ahead. Blessings. Love Ross and Gabriele and family

  • Monica Sitles & Helen Rode says:

Our condolences to the whole family in this loss. I remember pastor Poschwatta officiated my dad’s funeral many years ago, and he just knew how to prepare us and how to speak with deep meaning at the funeral. I will always remember his loving way – and how he understood grief. I hope he runs into my dad, Helmut Rode, in heaven and they have a long chat.

  • Ella Rezansoff says:

My heart felt sympathy to the family. Pastor Poschwatta was a family friend to my aunt Marta. He was also a pastor and spiritual brother to my mother Mrs. Schmidt. I greatly missed his visits with her after she passed away. He was a wonderful Godly man and pastor.

  • Marvin & Anita Bonn says:
