Passed away tragically on March 17, 2014 at the age of 40. Survived by his loving wife Mihaela, daughter Izabela, sons Viktor, Valentino, brother Sasa (Brandi), sister Dijana, his mother Radmila as well as numerous other relatives. Sadly predeceased by his father Slavko in April 2013. DJ was a devoted husband and father. He loved the outdoors which included hunting, fishing and camping. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at 11:00 am at Evangel Tabernacle Church, 3261 Gordon Drive, Kelowna, BC. Interment to follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a trust account for DJ’s children at the TD Canada #204- 638-5678. There are so many to describe such a large, pure, unique, and special soul. There is no replacing a son, a brother, a father, or a friend like DJ.
My heart aches for all who were close to this gentleman, but in the same way, our hearts should also glow with pride simply for knowing such a phenomenal character.
Watch over your children and family, guide us all from above on our journeys as we strive to live up to the standards you so effortlessly set.
Many knew Dejo much better than I of course, nonetheless this man left a great impression on me, and with positive memories I will truly cherish for life.
Rest in peace brother.

Our deepest sympathies and condolences go out to the entire Rasovic family. We were devastated to hear of this tragedy. We only knew DJ for a short time through the KLO basketball team but became so unbelievably fond of him and his incredibly kind ways. He lit up every game we were at with his humor and never ending encouragement and support of all the boys on the team. Brayden spoke of you often DJ – and really looked up to you as a great mentor and an all around “cool guy”. Words cannot express our sadness – you will be truly missed.Our thoughts and prayers are with the family – please take comfort in the fact that so many others mourn with you and are thinking of you at this devastating time.

My deepest Condolence to the wonderful and caring Rasovic family. I didn’t really know the family very much, I met them back in 2012 at the time when I lost my father Mile Miljkovic who lived in kelowna and was killed by a car, and a member of the Serbian Othodox Church. The Rasovic family opened their hearts and their home to me (a complete stranger) even though they knew my father. I must truly say that it was a pleasure to meet this amazing and loving family and I enjoyed every moment that I was able to spend with them. They truly are the most amazing family and human being’s I’ve ever met in my life. My heart goes out to them due to this tragedy that should have never happened. Bože molim te daj snagu familiju u ovu tesku vreme i cuvij Mihaelu, Izabelu, Viktor i Valentino. REST IN PEACE DJ!!! I met DJ about 3 years ago when I sold some of his new homes at the Lakes in Lake Country. He always welcomed any visits. I kept in touch and often as I passed the residence in East Kelowna I would make a quick cell call to say “Hi I’m just thinking of you today DJ, and he would say “Grantsky!” thanks for the call! ” March 17 is my birthday & so I will always remember this sad day for the family. My kind thoughts to his wife and the children. I’m glad I met all of you.

My sincerest condolences to Mihaela, Izabela, Valentino and Viktor, and to Dejo’s extended family during this unthinkably difficult time. Dejo I will always remember you as the young and handsome gent who was always there for my mom and dad whenever they needed a hand and for that, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. You were always mentioned in my dad’s stories and I can tell you that you brought so much joy and excitement to his life. He and my mom were both very proud to know you, often referring to you as their “third child”. You are loved and will be dearly missed. We will continue to share fond stories of your outstanding generosity and zest for life with all those around us. Rest in peace Dejo.

I didn’t know Dejo that well, but I knew him well enough to know that he was a very special man. Bright, charming and funny comes to mind when describing him. He was always pleasant, always hospitable and always had a grin on his face.
The last time I spoke to Dejo was after his father passed away last year. I called him to extend my condolences. Afterwards, we were catching up on what was going on in each other’s lives – he bought some acreage, building another house, kids are growing up fast. At the end, he told me to come up to the house next time I’m in Kelowna for a couple of beers. I truly regret that I never did.
Dejo, you left us far too soon and left us with a huge void. We will miss you greatly. Rest in peace.

Dear Mihaela and the Rasovic family, it is with the saddest of hearts that I learned of DJs accident and your loss. I cannot explain enough how much all the memories of all the times DJ and I shared will remain with me forever. He was one of the finest men I have ever met and a true friend. The world has lost a great human being.Sorry that I could not get out from Calgary to see you all in person but know that my heart and thoughts are with you all during this difficult time.
