We Remember
REID, Sharon
—
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sharon Jean Reid (née Monson) on May 20, 2015 at the age of 70 years in Kelowna, BC. She is survived by her loving children, David (Alina), Tim (Laura), Kathy and Karen (Jeff); grandchildren Tahlia, Sera, Elizabeth, Alexandra, James, Andrew, Audrey, Thomas and Lillian, siblings Ron (Maureen) Monson and sister Robin (Miles) Krisko, and brothers-in-law Murray (Helen) Reid and Brent (Sherryl) Reid, as well as many nieces and nephews and their families. After 33 wonderful years of marriage, she was predeceased in 2000 by her husband, Robert Page Reid. Sharon was born on September 9, 1944 to Melvin and Bernice Monson in Prince Rupert, BC. She graduated with a BA and teacher’s certificate in Winnipeg, MB, and taught elementary school in several places throughout Manitoba. After marrying in 1967, Bob and Sharon lived in The Pas, Manitoba, before moving with their young family to Oliver, BC in 1974, and then settling in Kelowna in 1976. While raising four children, Sharon began her long career in tax preparation. She worked for several tax businesses before venturing out and starting her own successful tax business, Tax & File, located at Capri Centre Mall and other locations throughout Kelowna. During retirement Sharon enjoyed travelling in her van with her friend Carol, family members, and small dog, Mina. We will miss and remember her warm smile, kind and generous heart, and always helpful advice. An interment will be held at a later date in Sinclair, MB. If you wish to send a condolence, post photos or share a memory, please scroll down the page to the area called “Share Your Condolences.”

Please accept my deepest condolences on the death of your mother, Sharon. It was my privilege to work with her at Int. Tax and File for over 5 years. She was a very special lady and a joy to be around. Her sense of humour was stellar and her guidance was freely given. I liked her very much.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of the death of Sharon. I worked with her and for her for many years and she was the best boss I ever had. Outside of work she introduced me to golf and gambling ,neither one being anything I was good at but we had fun. My deepest sympathy to all the family.
I am so sorry for your loss! Sharon was a good friend of my mom, Pat Schultz, so I had the privilege of knowing her for many years on a personal and business basis. She always had a smile and a warm welcome. May all your wonderful memories help you through this very sad time.
To all the family. We are very sorry to hear about your Mother passing away. Our deepest sympathy to each of you. Mother’s are very special. To each of you hold on to those loving memories forever. With love Elaine Bill Cathy
To Kathy and all of your family, our sincere condolences. I have known Sharon for close to 20 years and was saddened to hear of her passing. A delightful lady who will be missed. My son Steve and I and our whole family send our deepest sympathy.
To David, Tim, Karen and Kathy,
You know how shocked and saddened we were when your Mom died. She was a wonderful lady and we will look forward to sharing stories about herwhen we meet in Sinclair in August.
To David, Tim, Karen and Kathy. Our heartfelt sympathy goes to each one of you on the passing of your Mom. We only recently learned of her passing. I met your mom taking a H & R Block tax course in the late 70’s. I was always secretly competing with her, trying to get better marks, which I soon learned was not going to happen. We worked for the same company for many years, although we did not work in the same office, and I am sure it was because we couldn’t be trusted together… to much fun together and not enough work done? We have had the privilege of seeing you kids growing up and I was amazed at how your mom dealt with the chaos of a young family. She took everything in stride and just carried on. She only dealt with problems when they arose and didn’t waste time worrying about things before they happened. It was good connecting with you Karen and Kathy and seeing how you have grown into beautiful women and now you are mothers yourselves. I know she had loving care these past months. Your mom was a special woman, kind, caring and enjoyed life. I pray your memories of her will keep her close to each of you as you go this time of mourning and loss. With our sympathy to all of you, Darryl and Elaine Frasier
