We Remember

SAYERS, Irene Christina (nee Tetzlaff)

April 6, 1916 — May 23, 2015

Went to be with Jesus at the age of ninety-nine. Irene had two daughters and four grandchildren: Joyce Diemert, mother to Cory and Danny, and Flo (Brent) Wood, parents to Sean and Erin (Corey). Irene was born the eldest of eight and leaves behind four wonderful siblings: Eva Landeen, Barbara Colledge, Leonard (Laureen) Tetzloff and Clifford (Maureen) Teztlaff.
Irene was a hard worker and a woman of strong conviction. Her faith, family and friends were all that mattered to her.
We would like to thank Interior Health Home Support for the wonderful care given to Mom as well as Kathy, Yvonne and Lisa in Comfort Living for their genuine affection and care in Mom’s first years of transition. For Mom’s final years, thank you to Sutherland Hills staff. The humor, care and involving Mom in activities are so appreciated. Her final days were spent with earthly angels around the clock. To all, words are not enough but know you are valued by our family. We are missing Mom but know she has completed her journey and is at peace.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice and please remember to love one another. Flo and Brent, and your family…our sincere condolences on the death of Flo’s dear Mother. Mothers are very special, and this mother was well loved and cared for by her daughter and family. Our sincere sympathy goes out to all.

  • Val and Rick Anderson says:

Sending loving prayers and thoughts to the family. Aunt Irene was such a very kind and caring lady. When we were first married, we had nothing. She gave us a couch and chair which we appreciated so much and were forever thankful for. Even though Aunt Irene never had much herself – she gave of herself so unselfishly and never asked for anything in return. We had many good laughs and fun times with her that I shall always treasure and remember. She lived a very long life and I know it was partly due to the fact that Brent & Flo invited her into their home and looked after her for close to 20 years…..bless them for that. May she now rest in peace.
    Love & Blessings,
Rick, Val, sister Eva & family

  • Deborah Jans says:

Our deepest sympathy goes out to Auntie Irene’s family. It is with great sadness I share in my father’s loss of his dear sister. May the family be at peace knowing her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. On behalf of Cliff Tetzlaff’s family, our prayers go out to you all. God Bless.
