    Dear Kim:

A memory from the farm in Bow Island that always makes me smile is the time that my mom and Auntie Nora tried to pull a fast one on Uncle John on a hot summer day. He was in the field and back at the house the girls carefully opened a beer and drank the contents and filled the bottle up with water. The 3 of us piled into that old jeep and drove out to where Uncle John was working. I remember he got a big smile on his face when he saw that with the snack we had delivered, there was also a beer. He cracked it open without noticing that it had been tampered with. Mom and Auntie Nora tried to make a quick get away before Uncle John discovered that his cold beer was actually water. Auntie Nora was laughing so hard that she kept stalling the jeep and the 3 of us were doused in what water was left in the bottle. I was only in Elementary School, but to this day that memory reminds me of some fun times in Bow Island.

On our last visit to Auntie Nora’s she had us over for lunch and Stan commented that she was still cooking enough food to feed a Harvesting crew. She laughed at the amount of potatoes that she expected Stan to eat! This is another testament to what a gracious hostess she was.

Our condolences to all of you.

    Love,
    Wendy and Stan

Kim…you and your girls were the joy of Mom’s life! How she loved being called “Grandmama”. 1990 brought her to Kelowna and into my life, and in my heart she will always stay. Love Bob and Gloria Savage
