DE FREITAS, Fernando

October 4, 1964 — August 3, 2018

Fernando de Freitas, 53, of Kelowna, BC, died on August 3, 2018. He was born on October 4, 1964 in Castlegar, BC.

Fernando grew up in Castlegar. He worked as a construction worker in Vancouver, went to school in Nelson, BC and became a welder. Fernando moved to Oakville Ontario and worked in the Ford Plant for about 3 years, then moved back to Kelowna where he worked as a welder and made many friends.

Fernando is survived by his parents Manuel and Maria, sister and brother-in-law, niece and nephew and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC, V1Y 5V8.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association of BC, 300 – 828 West 8th Avenue, Vancouver, BC, V5Z 1E2.

    I am so sorry to hear that Ferbs has passed. I have many fond memories, one of my favorite was Christmas dinner at Manuel and Maria’s home. My deepest condolences to you both. He will be missed.
