Patten, Ardith Louise, (née Dunford)
March 20, 1945 — February 7, 2012
Born March 20, 1945 in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Died February 7, 2012 leaving husband Clar and daughters Beth and Ruth, sister Roanne Collier (Ed), nieces and nephews Adam, Curtis, Kathleen, Peter Jr., Tracey, Kerrey and Christina and many friends in Kelowna, Newfoundland, Australia and elsewhere. Predeceased by her sister Carole Koopmans and parents Ches and Anne Dunford. She was a devoted mother, wife, sister and a great friend to those fortunate enough to know her. We are so thankful for the time we’ve had with her, but are comforted that she is now no longer in any pain. May God grant her peace and comfort in his loving arms. A Memorial Service was held at St. Michael’s Cathedral, 608 Sutherland Avenue in Kelowna at 4:00 pm on Friday, February 10, 2012. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 17, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Grand Bank United Church, 4 Church Street, Grand Bank, NFL.

Although we are not able to physically be there, we are so “with you” in spirit and holding you very close in our hearts. I am so sorry for your loss. Ardith/you mom, was such a dear, loving soul. Although her body was unable to endure, her loving spirit will live on in her beautiful girls and she will be long remembered by those whose lives she touched.

Dear Clarence, Beth, Ruth, Roanne and family. We were saddened to hear of Ardie’s death and our thoughts and prayers are with you all. I take comfort in the thought that she is no longer suffering. She has been a great friend of mine since she was a small child and always made time to visit me each time she came to Grand Bank. RIP dear friend.
Ardith had such a way of making everyone comfortable and important. She had such a sense of humor. Could find the humor in most things. Even when she was sick, she still could see the lighter side of life. We will miss her and so happy to have known her. She loved her family above all else.

It was a great sense of loss when we heard of Ardith’s passing. Our hearts are truly saddened and go out to the family. Ardith was a wonderful beautiful lady. She was kind, considerate and had an undeniable passion for her family. Ardith had a great smile and laugh that will never be forgotten. She will be truly missed, but will live on in her amazing family.
So sorry to hear Ardith has passed. the last time I saw her she sat with a “group” of Emberleys at the dinner theatre in Grand Bank. We had a great chat and enjoyed it very much. Beautiful lady. She is at peace. I will be praying for you and the girls and I know God will give you strength to sustain you through the days ahead.

I was so sad to hear of Ardith’s passing. Even though I hadn’t seen her in many years, I remember her as the beautiful, caring person who instantly filled my parent’s dining room with warmth and joy each time she came to visit. I remember, vividly, her great sense of humor and joyful spirit. She was truly a wonderful lady and was taken from us way too soon.
