We Remember
STOSIC, Petar
January 1, 1970 — January 1, 1970
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Petar Stosic, who died peacefully in Kelowna, BC on April 16, 2020 at the age of 87.
Petar was born in Fericanci, Croatia on July 12, 1932. He was predeceased by his parents Antun and Marica, and his half-sister, Jelena. Petar is survived by his loving wife, Kathy, and beloved son, Glen.
Petar came to Canada in the 1960s and spent many years working in the mining industry throughout the Yukon, British Columbia, and Ontario. He will be remembered by those who knew him for his warm and gentle spirit, tireless work ethic, and undying devotion to his family. While Petar’s work often took him away from home, even in his absence he was–and will remain–an abiding source of strength and inspiration to his loved ones. While we deeply mourn his loss, we will forever hold him within our hearts and strive to honour his credo to always “keep smiling.”
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Wendy Wickstrom, Dr. Rosalie Swart, and the entire staff at Spring Valley Care Centre for their dedicated care.
A private graveside service will be held at Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial service will be announced at a future date. If you wish to send a condolence, post photos or share a memory, please scroll down the page to the area called “Condolences”.
