We Remember

WOLOSHYN, Michele

With immense grief and sadness, the family of Michele Gay Woloshyn announce her peaceful passing on Tuesday,
October 27, 2020, after fighting for her life for 5 days in the ICU at Kelowna General Hospital. Michele was 52 years young. She is predeceased by her father, Al Perepeluk and her mother and father-in-law, Tillie and Ted Woloshyn. Michele will forever be lovingly remembered by her husband and life partner, Gerald and her most treasured sons Kyle, Ryan (Bailey), and Tyler, and her beloved pug, Lucy. She is also survived by her mother, Marion Perepeluk; sisters Charisse (Neil) Johnston; nephews Cole and Eric; niece Taylor and Allison (Javier) Mejia; niece Dani; nephew Brody. Michele lived for her family, friends, and her fur babies. Her biggest pride and joy was the life her family created when they moved to Kelowna, BC in 2015. Everything seemed to fall in place there. Michele was just recently starting to enjoy the next phase of her life with Gerry. Kyle moved out to live in an incredibly supported independent home of his own, Ryan moved out to Calgary with Bailey and started work and Tyler was studying pre-med. Words could not describe how proud she was. This also meant quality time spent with Gerry, travelling to her most favorite place, Maui, or to the  UK to visit her sister. She spoke to her sister Charisse and mom nearly every day and always made it back to Regina for her mom’s birthday. Michele loved making jewelry, planting flowers, and decorating her home, taking in the beautiful sights around her, swimming and lounging in her pool, cooking and baking for her boys and spending quality time with those around her. She loved so dearly her nieces and nephews and always made it known to them. Everyone who spent time with Michele couldn’t do so without one of her selfies with them. We are so very privileged that she documented our time with her through her many pictures taken. Our lives won’t be the same without her.

A Livestream of the Celebration of Life can be viewed on Monday, November 2, 2020at 1:00 pm (also available to be replayed afterwards). To view the Livestream please see the livestream box below.  Due to Covid-19 restrictions, attendance at the celebration will be invitation only.

We want to express our gratitude to the paramedics who worked their hardest to bring Michele back to us, and to all the staff in the ICU at Kelowna General Hospital for their dedication to Michele and her family. Oh Gerry, I am so saddened to hear of Michele’s passing. Just recently you shared your deep conviction and love for her; that love and the memories will live on forever. The life you shared was rich in family – love for your boys – a mutual bond that can’t be broken. I know these days are most difficult, almost impossible to bear. Know that the pain will subside and life will be different but still good; and, you will find your way through this time of mourning. Death leaves a heartache no one can heal: love leaves a memory no one can steal. Holding you close in my thoughts and prayers.
