We Remember

SELLERS, Douglas Roger

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Roger Sellers on Sunday, April 13, 2025, in Kelowna BC with family by his side. Roger courageously fought the battle of congestive heart failure and vascular dementia. Roger was in his 74th year.

A loving and dedicated father to Trevor, Kenny (Sonja), Brittani (Rene), Landon (Jess), and Stephanie (Colton), Roger was also the much-loved grandpa “Oggie” to Hunter, Gabby, Grace, Ava, and Levi.

Born on Riverbank Drive in the Freeport area of Kitchener. He was the youngest son of the late Ken & Kay Sellers.

Roger was a much respected foreman of Rosmar Drywall for many years and a member of the Local 785 Carpenters Union.

A true cowboy at heart, Roger was happiest in the saddle – whether it was on his horse Duke or on his motorcycle chasing the wind. Music ran through his veins, and there was nothing he loved more than strumming his guitar and singing the oldies that brought smiles to everyone around him. His spirit, his voice, and his stories will echo in our hearts forever.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 22nd, 2025, from 2-5 pm, at the Army Navy Banquet Hall: 151 Lorne Avenue East, Stratford, Ontario. Cremation has taken place.

Roger was an avid hunter and outdoorsman, so with that in mind, donations may be made to the Canadian Wildlife Federation in lieu of flowers.

“Take er easy”.

It seems like a hundred years ago yet it seems like just yesterday.
We lived, we loved, we embraced life and all the challenges it threw at us, we parted, but not our hearts. Remaining close-knit and still a family. Just look at these 3 amazing beings we created! Each one of them holds a part of our best attributes. You and me! How lucky we are as their parents! Thank you for being the strong gentle man who despite our differences still showed unwavering love and support throughout our lives. A one of a kind fiercely loving father and devoted friend and family kind of man. You showed dignity and integrity throughout your life on earth and we all are richer in our existence because of you. I will always be grateful for our life together and for the wonderful family you and I created. I promise your legacy will live on! Forever in our hearts. Rest in the sweetest peace xo

Extending sincere condolences on the loss of a great man. Dad (Ben Yeo) worked with Roger many moons ago at Rosemary. It was always a great time singing and laughing to the oldies. I loved listening to both men play their songs. Life moved on and our families drifted apart but we fondly remember the good times. Sending love and prayers to the family.

  • Lora says:

I’ll always remember you riding around on the lawn mower in the backyard in the summer. You were like my second dad growing up… I’ll miss you, Roger 🖤
