We Remember

O’SULLIVAN, Ivel Mary

April 7, 1945 — April 15, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Ivel O’Sullivan. Her passing came unexpectedly with her devoted husband, Neil, by her side Tuesday, April 15 just 8 days after her 80th birthday.

Ivel was born April 7, 1945 to Emily O’Sullivan (later Emily Muldoon) and Marcus O’Sullivan in Limerick, Ireland. Ivel immigrated from Ireland to Canada in 1952 with her Mother, Father, and four siblings, John, Oona, Moria, and Marcus. Ivel had a deep passion and pride for her Irish heritage and carried that pride with her at all times. She also had a passion for teaching and helping people achieve their life goals as a career counsellor. Ivel enjoyed writing, listening to Irish music, and she loved bright colours, especially to wear, which seemed to compliment her vibrant personality perfectly. After returning to Canada from a vacation to Ireland, she met her husband, Neil. They spent 43 wonderful years together with their son, Tiegh.

Ivel had a warmth to her that could be felt immediately when you met her. She had a talent for brining out everyone’s best side with her smile, her charisma, and her sharp wit. She exuded positivity to all those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Ivel was a devoted mother and an outstanding wife. Ivel was our cheerleader, and the centre of our light, our hope, and our laughter, and she will be missed beyond what words can describe. She is survived by her cherished husband and son.

We love you forever, our dearest Ivel.

A Funeral Service will be held in honour of Ivel on SUNDAY, APRIL 27, 2025, at 10:00 AM, located at SPRINGFIELD FUNERAL HOME, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC.
