We Remember

NAGY, Yvonne Renee
July 15, 1971 — July 3, 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Yvonne Renee Nagy, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Yvonne passed away unexpectedly following a tragic accidental fall at the age of 53.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 26 years, Glen, and their cherished sons, Kyler and Rylan; her loving mother Arlene (Steve); her brother Darrell; and her uncle Bill (David). She was predeceased by her father Richard and her grandparents.
Yvonne was born in San Diego, California, and raised in Redding, where she graduated from Enterprise High School. A gifted performer, she pursued ballet and gymnastics and was a proud member of the Enterprise Starship singing and dance group, which took her all the way to Paris to perform—a highlight of her youth and a sign of her adventurous spirit.
After high school, Yvonne moved to Vancouver, BC, where she worked in the hospitality industry. It was there she met the love of her life, Glen—a kindred spirit who shared her sense of adventure. Their journey soon led them to the Cayman Islands, where they spent eight beautiful years building memories and welcoming friends and family who came to visit.
In 2004, Yvonne and Glen settled in Kelowna, ready to begin the next chapter: family. They were blessed with the arrival of Kyler on October 4, 2005, and Rylan on October 20, 2009. Becoming a mother was the greatest joy of Yvonne’s life. She poured her heart and soul into raising her sons, making the deliberate and loving choice to remain home full-time to ensure they had everything they needed—not just in material ways, but through her presence, her warmth, and her unconditional support.
She was there for every milestone and every moment—cheering from the sidelines as Kyler made incredible saves as a talented soccer goalie, proudly watching Rylan excel on the ultimate frisbee field, and encouraging their great musical talents as they performed in the Wentworth rock concerts. Whether in sports or on stage, Yvonne was always their loudest cheerleader and their most devoted supporter—undeniably their number one fan.
As a family, they shared a life full of joy and connection—skiing, paddleboarding, playing tennis, and gathering around the table for board games. Yvonne had a passion for baking, and her kitchen was often filled with the comforting aroma of homemade keto treats, lovingly prepared for her family.
In recent years, she worked part-time in the family business as a window covering specialist, where she took great pride in helping clients find beautiful, functional designs that made their houses feel more like home.
Yvonne’s faith was a guiding light in her life. She found joy and community attending Trinity Church, especially proud to watch Kyler play in the Worship Band—a meaningful connection between her spiritual life and the family she held so dear.
Yvonne will be remembered for her radiant smile that could light up any room, her unwavering generosity, her boundless compassion, and the countless quiet ways she gave of herself, never seeking recognition—only wanting others to feel loved. Her legacy is one of deep, enduring kindness and unconditional love.
Her light will continue to shine in the lives she touched—with every song her sons play, every warm memory shared, and every act of love inspired by her example.
A Celebration of Life will be held on SATURDAY, JULY 26, 2025, at 1:00 PM, located at TRINITY CHURCH, 1905 Springfield Rd, Kelowna, BC. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be available via Livestream.

My sincere condolences to Glen, Kyler, Rylan and the entire family. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
Oh Yvonne, you were one of the most genuine people I have ever met. There are no words that can express how much I am going to miss you my friend! None of this feels real yet. I just can’t believe you’re gone! Ive spent the last week going through all our texts and looking at pics & videos from through the years with our boys. You were like a Sister to me and a 2nd mom to our son Jayk. I promise you I will always check in on Rylan, Kyler, and Glen and do the best I can, along with everyone who loved you, to get them through this! You were the best of everything to everyone, especially as a wife and mother! We were all blessed to have you in our lives. From my entire family, Kurt, Kale, Jayk and myself, we are sending our love, prayers and hugs to Glen & the boys, your mom & Steve, your Uncle Bill & his partner, and all of your extended family and friends. Farewell my dear Friend…Heaven has certainly gained a very special Angel!

I was shocked and saddened to read about the passing of Yvonne while I read her beautifully written obituary.
Yvonne was such a warm and genuine soul –a classroom parent who I held near and dear to my heart.
Yvonne was always so appreciative of the classroom events I hosted while teaching Rylan in Grade 1. She always stayed a little longer to help me get the classroom back in order and I can still see her smile and hear her gentle voice expressing gratitude. She really was a gem.
I am thankful I had an opportunity to ski with her at Big White a few years ago. I remember riding the chair lift and asking about her boys and she said, “Oh, I always love talking about my boys. Let me tell you where they’re at.”
Yvonne had a soul filled with kindness. May the lessons she taught you resonate in your memory, and you hear her laughter on the days you need it most.
Sincerely,
Julie Fiorentino
P.S. I was able to find about 6 pictures of Yvonne with Rylan during his Grade 1 year with me.
