We Remember

BLOWER, Christina Anna
August 8, 1944 — July 10, 2025
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Christina Anna Blower on July 10, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on August 8, 1944, in Austria, Christina immigrated to Canada and attended St. Paul’s Hospital, where she pursued a career in nursing. She graduated in 1962, forming lifelong friendships with a remarkable group of peers who remained close to her throughout her life.
Christina married her beloved husband Stephen Blower in 1965, with whom she shared many cherished memories and adventures. After retirement, they travelled the world together, exploring the British Virgin Islands, Fiji, New Zealand, Australia, Costa Rica, with particularly fond memories of Hawaii and the Cook Islands.
Her love for adventure extended to her personal hobbies, including sailing, fishing, and snorkelling in tropical waters. Living at Shuswap Lake, she found joy in the sunsets, beach time, and the quiet beauty of the natural surroundings.
Christina was an incredibly proud wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She built a beautiful family and maintained close relationships with lifelong friends, some of whom she had known for more than fifty years. Her warmth and loving presence will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Stephen Blower; her sister, Anna Schulte; and her parents, Maria and Josef Neumeyer.
Christina leaves behind her legacy through her loving family, including her children: Jeff Blower (Dee Hendrix), Kathy Johnson (Jeff Ellerton), and James Blower (Kim Hindle). She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren: Steevy Blower, Kassidy Blower (Coady Ruberry), Connor Johnson, Jessica Johnson, Kirsten Coleman (Steve Coleman), Brandon Hendrix (Kristin Bartosik), Kelton Blower, and Adria Blower; her great-grandchildren, Scarlett Ruberry, Lilah Ruberry, Sophie Coleman, Jack Coleman, and Walker Hondas; and her niece Karin Schulte and nephew William Schulte.
A celebration for Christina will take place in the fall, when friends and family will gather to honour her amazing and adventurous life.

To Chris’s family,
It’s with great sorrow that I may on my deepest condolences to you. I went to school with Chris and played volleyball with her. We have kept in touch with our school reunions and our luncheons.
Just had lunch with her a month ago, and she looked beautiful in her new wig. It’s hard to believe she’s gone.
All the best!
Lynn Armeneau
I
Sending my care and sympathy to Chris’ family whom she loved so much and was so proud of. My childhood memories are full of her presence as our families visited together. She will always be Auntie Chris. ♥️
Dear Jeff, Jamie, Kathy, and all extended family: we have all suffered a great loss of a very special person in our lives. No loss is greater than yours but we her friends will miss our special relationships with her. She treated us with such great affection and always spoke of her immense gratitude for her many friends. I am fortunate to have known her and Steve for almost 60 years as good family friends and also Chris on her own as a treasured friend and confidante. She is greatly missed.
