We Remember
GILL, Nasib Kaur
May 1, 1966 — September 7, 2025
On the evening of Sunday, September 7, 2025, God welcomed home our beloved mother and friend, Nasib Kaur Gill; a woman whose life was evidence of her strength, willpower, and loyalty.
From her earliest days, Nasib carried within her a remarkable spirit of hard work and determination. Nasib faced a fair share of hardships, yet nothing could bring her down, she was never defeated. Through her determination, she had the remarkable ability to turn these hardships into lessons. Every step of her life was marked with purpose. She was filled with love, blessing every monumental moment of our lives with her laughter and her ability to see the best in everything. She loved sewing, and with magic in her hands, she sewed everything, from suits for her grandchildren to blankets knit with warmth. Through her art, she clothed her family in care and left her love stitched into every seam.
Every home she ever built was a reflection of her spirit. She would work endlessly to make sure her home was safe and beautiful for her children. She planted so much life in her gardens; with vegetables and flowers blooming side by side, nourished by the same determination and patience that lifted her soul, she was unstoppable once her heart was set on something, she made it happen with beauty and dignity.
Nasib’s heart always belonged to Waheguru. Faith was not only her comfort but her compass. She gave freely, donated often, and extended her hand to those in need without hesitation. She was a guide to many, the one people turned to for advice, and her words carried clarity and truth.
She lived through love, patience, kind words, but most of all her actions made the largest impact. She was a selfless soul, and even through her husband’s recovery; she became his protector, his strength, his healer, and his reason to live. In this sacrifice, she revealed the true depth of her character; Her love for her family and children ran very deep. The strength she held within herself is revealed in her loved ones.
Nasib’s presence was magnetic and beautiful — not only did it impact so many lives but it also uplifted every soul that she touched. She built friendships across the world, touching countless lives with her generosity, wisdom, and grace.
Her departure leaves a silence no words can ever fill. Yet her memory will forever carry on. When you see the laughter of her children, the warmth of her grandchildren, and the strength she left behind, you will see how she has always been with Waheguru.
Nasib Kaur Gill was a blessing, a teacher, and a light. Her spirit remains eternal, guiding us with love, courage, and grace.
In honour of Nasib, hold those who are close to you and share your wisdom and kindness with them. She followed everything we believe in Sikhism, and taught those around her how to move through life with intention and integrity.
If she could have any last words, she would tell us all that there are bad times with good, but you have to look at the bright side. You have to hold yourself strong for those who need it the most, so they can find the light when they feel lost. She would want everyone to know the peace she has now received is all due to the strength embodied in each and every one of you. In this strength, just know that she is looking down on you with a proud smile.
Nasib is survived by her husband of 34 years, Balwinder Singh Gill; her children, Tanupreet Kaur (Gagan) Mann, Gurupreet Kaur (Gurinder Singh) Nahal, and Gurnoor Singh Gill; grandchildren Armeetah Kaur Mann, Arjan Singh Mann, and Sohana Kaur Mann; her father Jit Singh Sidhu; and her brother, Swaran Singh Sidhu. Nasib was predeceased by her mother, Amarjit Kaur Sidhu.
