We Remember
COMPTON, Sherri Dawn
September 30, 1971 — September 11, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Sherri Dawn Compton on September 11, 2025, at the age of 53.
Small in stature at 4’10 and a half (the half mattered!), Sherri was a force of nature — fiercely strong, deeply compassionate, and known for her quick wit and unwavering loyalty. She was the person everyone turned to, and she always showed up.
Sherri was a beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister, grandmother, and friend. She is survived by her devoted husband, Jon Corbett; her loving parents, Shirley and Gordon Ingram; her children, Ashley (Colton), Taylor (Hayleigh), and Kennedy (Scott); the father of her children, Lee Mullins; and her adored grandchildren Ava, Chloe, Jayce, and Maeve. She also leaves behind her sisters, Terry and Rhonda; stepchildren, Jake, Alexi, and Luke; sister-in-law Amy; stepbrothers Andrew and Steven; and her many nieces and nephews. She is remembered fondly by her former in-law family, including Brenda, Lloyd, Kim, and Jamie; and a large extended family near and far who felt the warmth of her love, loyalty, and laughter. She was predeceased by her father, Ronald Compton, father-in-law Rick Corbett, mother-in-law Sharon Corbett, and stepbrother Michael Ingram.
Sherri took great pride in her career as a nurse, dedicating many years to caring for others with a level of compassion that was truly unmatched. She was the kind of person you wanted by your side—whether you were a patient, a family member, or a neighbour, you could always count on her unwavering support. Sherri’s door was always open, and her heart was always ready to listen.
She had a gift for helping others, whether it meant offering a comforting word, fixing a flat tire, or tackling a household project. Her determination and resourcefulness shined through in everything she did. Sherri lived life to the fullest, embracing each day without hesitation and with a spirit that inspired those around her. She was determined to make the most of every moment and never missed an opportunity to remind the people she loved just how deeply she loved them.
Sherri’s legacy is one of unconditional love, honesty, and unforgettable humour. To know her was to feel like family. She will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sherri’s memory to the MS Society of Canada. A celebration of life will be held at a later date to honour her with stories, laughter, and love.
