We Remember
            TUOVILA, Elizabeth “Betty”
October 11, 1943 — September 16, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the loss of Elizabeth “Betty” Tuovila, who went to be with the Lord on September 16, 2025, at the age of 81.
Betty was born in Vancouver, BC, but lived most of her life in Kelowna when, before her second birthday, her family returned to their Okanagan roots. She was a quiet and shy person, and those who visited their log cabin in Westbridge, know she treasured the peaceful surroundings she found when she and her husband, Bud, moved there in 1988.
Fond of classical music, she also enjoyed exploring various crafts and developed a degree of talent in sketching and painting in later years. Betty was a devoted, full-time mother to her handicapped daughter, Tanya, and the two were a regular fixture at the café in Rock Creek, and later at the A&W when they moved to Grand Forks.
She is survived by her sons Jim (Bev) and John (Michelle); 11 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and her siblings Margaret (Frank) Koide and Wendy (Terry) Boutwell. She was predeceased by her husband, Bud Tuovila, in 2002, and her daughter, Tanya Tuovila, in 2007.
Betty will be missed by her family and friends, and they will honour her each in their own ways. No formal service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
