We Remember

ROGERS, Dennis Raymond

February 7, 1940 — October 12, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the loss of Dennis Raymond Rogers, who passed away peacefully at Kelowna Hospice House while surrounded by his grandchildren.

Dennis is survived by his sons Brad and Sean (Alysse); grandchildren Maxwell, Veronica, Noah, Caleb, and Lucas; and sister Dorothy.

Dennis was born in Lucky Lake on February 7, 1940, and grew up in Whalley, BC. As a kid, he played little league baseball and developed the easygoing, social nature that stayed with him throughout his life. He worked as a Zamboni operator in Kelowna for more than 30 years, becoming known as the “ice man” for the Kelowna Rockets hockey team. His steady presence and friendly personality made him well-liked by players and fans alike.

Outside of work, Dennis enjoyed golfing, especially at the Harvest Golf Club, where he played from the day it opened. He also loved to travel, taking cruises, joining Wells Gray tours, and spending time in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Dennis was known for being personable and down-to-earth, and he will be greatly missed by those who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held by family at a later date. Details to be announced.
