We Remember
HENDERSON, Curtis Mark
March 10, 1960 — November 30, 2025
Born in Long Beach, California on March 10, 1960, Curtis Henderson passed away unexpectedly on November 30, 2025, at the age of 65.
Curt grew up moving between California, Australia, and British Columbia, learning early how to feel at home wherever the land opened itself to him. He spent more than thirty years working as a sheet metal mechanic with Kelowna Flightcraft, a trade he carried with quiet pride and a steady hand.
He is survived by his wife of thirty-four years, Brenda Wendell; stepchildren Geoff and daughter-in-law Meghann, Chris Wendell and daughter-in-law Shani, and Lisa Matheson and son-in-law Bob. He leaves grandchildren Josh, Liam, Ainsley, Lochlann, Ayla, Mira, Lewis, William, and Abbey. He is also survived by his brother Brian. Curt was predeceased by his parents and a brother.
Curt was a man who found his place outdoors. He loved fishing, hunting, camping, snowmobiling/quadding, and travelling with Brenda across North America. At home in the Okanagan Centre community, he was known for simple kindnesses, long walks with the dogs along the trails, and the easy way he connected with neighbours and friends. His spiritual life ran deep and quiet, like a stream that keeps its own rhythm beneath the surface.
He will be missed by his family, his friends, and all who shared the trail with him. A Celebration of Life will take place in the spring of 2026.

I am so sorry for your loss. Your family is in my thoughts and in my heart. I will miss seeing Curt at the beach in the summer, dogs in tow, a smile on his face. May he rest in peace. ❤️
Dear Brenda and family, so very sorry for your loss. I knew Curt from the trail and always enjoyed conversations as the dogs played. While we were only acquaintances. It was so nice to meet great people on the trail and our love of our dogs was always evident! You are in my thoughts at this very difficult time. And I hope I see you with the dogs on the trail so I can give you a hug.
Brenda and family,
We’re so sorry to hear of Curt’s passing. May you find comfort in each other and in your memories. We are thinking of you
I am so very saddened to hear this news of Curt’s passing. I will miss him very much as the centre isn’t the same without Curt. I enjoyed our many many talks and his passing is hard to comprehend. Curt is now with his lord and savior. I will always remember Curt and I will always call him my friend.
So sorry to hear of Curt’s passing. Sending love to you and the family Brenda. We have many fond memories of our times together, especially camping on Rattlesnake Island. Rest in peace Curt
So very shocked and saddened to hear of Curt’s passing. Curt was a fixture of OK Centre for many years. We had many chats throughout the years while he was out walking the dogs or riding his bike. I’m pretty sure we solved the world’s problems on more than one occasion. Our condolences to all his family. OK Centre will surely miss him.
I was surprised and sad to hear of Curt’s sudden passing. I met him walking the OK trails near the lake. and sunbathing out front by the boat launch. Curt was always open for a chat and shared openly. I will miss his presence on the trails and his kindness.

We are so sorry for your loss Brenda. We were really sad to hear of Curt’s passing. He was always a ray of sunshine hiking the Okanagan Centre beach trail with his two trusty dogs, never too busy for a friendly chat. He was generous with his fresh tomatoes in the summer and always kept an eye on our home when we weren’t around. We will miss him.
