We Remember
MACDONALD, Mabel June
—
With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Mabel June MacDonald, who died peacefully on December 18, 2025, at the age of 95.
She was a woman of remarkable warmth, creativity, and grace. An avid gardener, she found joy and peace in nature and had a lifelong love for animals. She also loved to ski, fish, hunt, golf and had a great fondness for card games – particularly Lambsie with her life partner- a daily ritual.
Her home reflected her gifts; a welcoming, beautiful, and thoughtfully designed reflection of her talent as a fantastic homemaker and extraordinary chef, whose meals brought family and friends together for decades.
She had an innate sense of style and fashion, which she carried throughout her life and into her professional career, working in the fashion industry in Scottsdale, Arizona. Her elegance was never just in how she dressed, but in how she lived; with care, pride, and generosity.
She shared an extraordinary 75-year marriage with her beloved husband, Donald “Mac” a partnership marked by deep devotion and love. His grief at her passing is profound, as is the loss felt by all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving children: George (Jeff), Helen (Stu), Lori (Dallas) and Thomas (Sonya). She was a cherished grandmother and great-grandmother to many. Her grandchildren: Celina, Tyson, Dallon, Dane, Brie, Madison, Cameron and all their spouses. Her great-grandchildren: Mac, Talay, Ryland, Gracyn, Ella, Eazy, Ryker, Huxley, Henny, Bryden, Hayes and Beau.
She was predeceased by her treasured grandsons Rian and Tyler, who were deeply loved and never forgotten.
Mom was close to her Norwegian family, connecting as often as possible.
Her legacy lives on in the beauty she created, the family she nurtured, and the love she gave so freely. She will be remembered always for her kindness, elegance, and the warmth of her presence.
At this time, we have not made plans for a service and will wait until family can travel. In lieu of flowers, Mom would want you to donate to a charity of your own choosing.
We would like to thank her doctors and all the kind support Mom received in hospice. The family also thanks you for the loving messages and visits. Our cousins were amazing.

My father’s cousin is Mac. Both of my parents demonstrated the importance of staying connected to family. I had met Mac and Mable once as a child and they made a big impact on me. I never forgot them. So when I moved to the Okanagan I knew I needed to reconnect. Despite COVID restrictions we managed to meet. Then we got together a few more times and got to meet Helen and her family too. Mabel was always warm and welcoming – and gorgeous too! I will never forget her and hope to continue to see Mac and other family members when we can make it work. My condolences to all.

Mabel was a kind and gracious lady. We will miss her, too.
