We Remember
KUIPERS, Susan “Sue”
November 29, 1937 — December 22, 2025
It is with great love and sadness that we announce the loss of Sue Kuipers, who passed away on December 22, 2025, at the age of 88.
Sue is lovingly remembered by her children Cameron (Gwen), Greg (Becky), Karl (Julie), Calvin (Jody), and Sylvia (Dave); grandchildren Sarah, Kaitlyn, Amanda, Steven, Jackie, Garrett, and Owen; and great-grandchildren Wren, Grant, and Finley.
She now goes to join her husband of 48 years, Ralph, who passed before her.
Sue was born on November 29, 1937, in Santa Monica, California, a place as sunny and spirited as she would grow to be. She didn’t see snow until she was nine years old, but once the world opened up to her, she embraced it fully. Sue loved to travel, ski and sail and found her people among fellow adventurers—Busnuts and Class C RV owners who shared her passion for the open road. With her RV and her natural gift for connection, she built friendships wherever she went. Long before social media made it easy, Susan was big on social networking in the truest sense: she was outgoing, curious, and seemed to know everyone—and everything. She didn’t need Google; if you had a question, you asked Sue.
Community and service were at the heart of who she was. Sue volunteered tirelessly and was instrumental in starting the Lioness, sharing the same values of service and compassion as the Lions Club, both in Lethbridge and Kelowna. She was also an avid bridge player, travelling far and wide to play the game she loved.
Above all, Sue was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and friend—someone whose warmth, wisdom, and laughter left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She will be deeply and greatly missed.
Family and friends will each honour her in their own ways. No formal service will be held.
