We Remember

CASTONGUAY, Leo David

November 15, 1944 — January 8, 2026

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Leo David Castonguay, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. Leo passed away on January 8th, 2026, in Kelowna, BC, at the age of 81.

Leo will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and his loving spirit. His laughter and compassion were gifts to everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his love and partner, Arlette Alcock; children Lance (Colleen) Castonguay of Vancouver, BC, and Kala (Frank) Vengels of Maple Ridge, BC; step-children Roseline Beach, Belle Beach, Otty Beach, and Jodi Merrit; sister JoAnn (Robert) Roy of Belleville, Ontario; brothers Edmond (Barb) Castonguay of Hamilton, Ontario, and Guy (Bonnie) Castonguay of Victoria, BC; along with many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Joseph and Marie Ann Castonguay, he was preceded in death by his brother Ivan (Barbara) Castonguay and his step-son Blaine.

A Celebration of Life will take place in May 2026, in Kelowna, BC. Details to be announced.
