We Remember

WILLIAMS, Robert Edward

October 17, 1955 — January 15, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of ‍Robert Edward Williams on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at the Kelowna Hospice House. Robert was born on October 17, 1955, in Vancouver, youngest son of the late Edward and Jean Williams.

Taken from us too fast and too soon, he is survived by his loving wife, Nicolle Williams; brother Rick; sister Doreen; daughters Krystal and Nicole (Andrew); grandchildren Rhiannon, Arden, Finnegan, Lillian, and Owen; his mother-in-law Susan Marshall; sister-in-law Shannon; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Robert and his siblings grew up in Vancouver, BC, where he graduated from Windermere High. He spent his childhood running around with the kids in the neighbourhood, playing kick the can in the field, and riding bikes in the alleyways. He and his family loved to vacation in Osoyoos, BC with his aunt Gladys, swimming and camping out. Robert’s heart was always drawn back to the Okanagan. And after a brief stint in Prince George, BC, where he married Melanie and had his first daughter Krystal, he relocated to Kelowna, BC. There, they welcomed the birth of their second daughter Nicole.

Through his early years in Kelowna, Robert enjoyed bringing some of the same adventures he’d enjoyed as a child to his own children; whether it was camping out, Sunday drives in nature or being a part of their extracurricular activities. He and Melanie divorced and while Robert had some memorable side-quests, owning rural property, living on the farm, trips to Vancouver, re-marrying, divorcing, what remained steady was spending time with his girls and being “Hollywood Bob” the cab driver. And it was driving cab that would ultimately lead Robert to the true love of his life, his wife of 19 years, Nicolle.

Robert was drawn to Nicolle’s voice, hearing her talk over the dispatch at Kelowna Cabs, and then listening to her sing, he was hooked. They shared a life together full of more of his favourite thing: adventures. From trips to Mexico, Roots and Blues Festival, to camping anywhere their motorhome would take them. He and Nicolle surrounded themselves with friends, family and fun times.

Those that knew him, knew Robert loved fiercely and played hard. He was always up for a good conversation, and he spoke his mind with everyone. He will be remembered for his quick wit, weed, and alcohol tolerance and passionate heart.

Robert’s family would like to thank the Kelowna Hospice House for accommodating Robert so quickly, with such gentleness and grace. He passed with peace, surrounded by his loved ones.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Robert’s funeral fund via e-transfer to hollywoodbobsendoff@gmail.com.
