We Remember
ANTON, Martha
November 20, 1930 — February 22, 2026
Born November 20, 1930, in Lubemierka, Poland, passed away February 22, 2026, in Kelowna, BC, at the age of 95 years.
We are very sad to share the passing of our loving mother, wife, and Oma, Martha Anton. She enjoyed a long life, well lived, and we are happy that she got her wish to be reunited with her Adam.
Martha is predeceased by her husband, of 71 years, Adam, and by her parents Heinrich and Maria Henschel, brothers Ewald and Theodore, and sister Irma.
She is survived by children Gordon (Tracey) Anton and Evelyn (Jim) Rota; grandchildren, Chad (Rhiannon) Rota, Lindsay (Colby) Russell, Amy Anton, Andrea Andrich (Dimitrios); great-grandchildren Logan and Mason Andrich, Lukas and Max Russell, and Sophie and Madelyn Rota. She is also survived by her sister, Lydia Monnich, in Germany; as well as sisters-in-law Helene Bonn, Rose Metz, Erika (Ernie) Lukacs; along with many nieces, nephews, and relatives in Germany.
Her greatest love was her husband, Adam, and she was happiest with her family all around her. Puttering in her kitchen and garden brought her immense joy.
Martha immigrated to Canada in 1952, joining Adam and his family in Lethbridge, AB, where they were married. They moved to Kelowna in 1954 and started their family. They moved to Vernon and then Revelstoke before later returning to Kelowna to enjoy their retirement.
Our family wishes to thank the incredible staff at Kelowna General Hospital for their care and kindness during her final days. We also wish to thank the wonderful staff and friends at Northwood Retirement Home.
