A celebration of life will be held at a future date this summer in Kelowna, BC and in Wallaceburg, Ontario. Please email donpricememorial@gmail.com if you would like to attend.
If you knew Don, then you knew he was a great storyteller. He had a keen eye for detail and always watched for the humour in daily life. He had a way of turning everyday moments into hilarious, memorable tales. He spent his life educating himself so that he could better teach others.
Don grew up in Wallaceburg, Ontario and spent his younger years working in power plants, boating on the St. Clair River, and raising his son. Eventually, he moved out to BC and settled in Kelowna with his family.
He was the kind of dad who would build his kids a tree fort to play in all summer, making sure they had their own mini tools to feel included. He was proud of his children and celebrated their accomplishments as if they were his own; always supporting them in his own way, while allowing them to choose their own paths.
Don was a talented Startup Manager who travelled to distant, international locations for work. He loved making friends and always found a way to communicate with people, even if he didn’t speak the language.
When he wasn’t working, you could find him tinkering in his garage. He also loved playing pool, fast cars, country music, and cold beer. Throughout his life, he almost always had a dog. He considered them special animals and treated them like members of the family.
To help us celebrate his life, the family would be happy to read your memories and stories of Don.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the BCSPCA or to The Wheels of Hope – Canadian Cancer Society (under “designation” select “Transportation to help people facing cancer”).
