We Remember
JOHNSON, Donald
October 5, 1934 — April 10, 2026
May the winds of love blow softly and whisper so you can hear, we will always love and miss you and wish that you were here.
For all that life has given us, all that is left to do, we know no greater treasure than the days we had with you.
Born on October 5, 1934, Donald Johnson passed away peacefully on April 10, 2026, at the age of 91.
Don was born in Edmonton, Alberta. When he was just a few years old, his mother passed away, and his father moved him and his siblings to Crescent Spur, BC.
As a young teenager, Don began working in the logging industry. He enjoyed the work and remained in the Spur area for several years. During this time, his daughter Elaine and son Keith were born, and they continued to make their home there.
In the early 1960s, Don moved to Prince George, BC. In 1969, he met Margaret (and her children Alanna and Lee). Don and Margaret were married on July 30, 1976. While living in Prince George, he enjoyed camping, fishing, and boating with family and friends. In 1978, Don was injured in a workplace accident and was forced into early retirement.
In 1990, Don and Margaret moved to Kelowna, BC. In his later years, Don spent his time going for walks, visiting with neighbors, and enjoying the sunshine on the deck.
Donald is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Margaret Johnson; by his four children, Elaine Brandt (Al), Keith Johnson (Patricia), Alanna Baxter (Dave), and Lee Baxter (Cory); his six grandchildren Kim, Gary, Tyler, Jamie, Carson, and Landon; and by his four great-grandchildren; and by many extended family members and friends from throughout the many years of his life.
He was predeceased by his grandson Joshua Johnson (d. 1999); his sister Phyllis, and his brothers Oliver, Earle, and Bernard; as well as by his parents, Lars and Geena.
