We Remember
SCOTT, Andrew Duke
April 18, 1952 — May 13, 2026
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Andrew Duke Scott in Kelowna, B.C., at age 74.
Born in Guelph, Ontario, raised in the Don Mills area of Toronto, Andrew then attended Carlton University in Ottawa. After graduating, he ventured off driving south to the United States with plans to end up in Vancouver. As luck would have it, his car broke down in Fort Worth, Texas, and he made friends with a mechanic and ended up staying for two years until US Immigration caught up with him. Yes, he was an illegal immigrant!
Upon returning to Toronto, he met his future wife, Beverley. Beverley took him on a trip to her hometown of Kelowna where he pronounced that one day he would live there. A few detours in life found him working for a few years in Toronto, then on to Vancouver working for Kodak, and finally on to Kelowna to open a photo shop and Santa photo business. Along the way he worked at Big White, installing water meters and doing maintenance work.
Andrew is survived by his wife of 45 years Beverley; children Erin (Lucas) Barker and James Scott; and grandchildren Lennon, Mackenzie, Charlotte, and Edward. He is also remembered by his siblings lan (Clayton), Geoffrey (Mary), and Louise (Don), as well as Bev’s family who embraced him as their own: Janet, Joanne (Maurice), and Kathy (David). Andrew also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors of the emergency department, the incredibly kind staff of ward 3MU at Kelowna General Hospital, as well as family and friends who shared kindness and love these last few days. Also thanks to the staff at David Lloyd Jones for their care of Andrew during his short stay there.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Critteraid Animal Sanctuary or the Parkinson Society of BC.
