We Remember
KUYEK, Lily Rose
June 26, 1941 — July 2, 2026
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Baba, great-Baba, and sister on July 2, 2026. She was born in Wishart, Saskatchewan.
Lily was predeceased by her loving husband Alvin; parents Alex and Rose Federko; and brother Sylvester (Pete). She is survived by her son Terry (Sherry); daughter Debbie (Darryl); daughter Michele (Dennis); grandchildren: Lisa (Eric), Nicole (Arden), Isaac (Melissa), Kayla (Randy), and Ally; and great-grandchildren: Kaity, Dylan, Blake, and Aurora. She also leaves behind her brothers Dave and Mike and sister Marianne, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mom was a homemaker until the children were in school, when she then worked in the jewelry industry, which sparked her passion for jewelry. Mom moved with Dad, following his teaching career, from Clarkson to Outlook and Canora, eventually moving to Regina. Dad and Mom moved to Penticton in 1989. Mom joined Dad in his second career, which took them to Botswana, Africa for three years and then to Ukraine for three years. In Ukraine, Dad and Mom were able to meet relatives and visit the villages where their families originated. Through this international teaching experience, Dad and Mom made many friends from all over the world and were blessed to travel to many locations. Ten years later, Dad and Mom relocated from Penticton to Kelowna.
Mom enjoyed birdwatching, was a member of the Red Hats Society, and enjoyed her coffee time with the neighbours.
We wish to show our appreciation and thanks to unit 3A and 3B at the Regina Pasqua Hospital.
Lily’s funeral service is being planned; please check back here for details as they become available.
