We Remember
LEADBETTER, Barbara Florence
October 11, 1933 — July 6, 2026
It is with great love and admiration that we announce the loss of Barbara Florence Leadbetter, who peacefully left the world on July 6, 2026, at the age of 92.
Left to hold her dear to their hearts are her children Sue (Len), David (Sheila), and Ross (Tanya); grandchildren Gillianne, Sarah, Chelsea, Brittany, Kynesha, and Taisha; great-grandchildren Tia, Nova, Lucia, Finn, Mila, Kaia, Felix, Gunnar, Acacia, and Zaela; and many extended family members and friends.
She now goes to join those who passed before her, including her loving husband, Doug, and grandchildren, Josh and Shyla Rae.
A 30 plus year veteran of Theater Kelowna Society and 1987 Honour in the Arts award recipient, Barbara Leadbetter lived her life fully. She was an active volunteer and loved the arts. She played many roles in her years on stage — Granny Twig might be the most appropriately memorable right now.
If you knew her at all along her 92 year journey, you will have a fond memory of a joke or a laugh — and always a kindness. Barbara always passed along a kindness in whatever form she could to anyone she was able to help feel better, make smile, or convince to laugh. She loved to laugh and share laughter with others. She was a force of nature, of good, and of love.
She will be missed by an entire family lineage of grateful kin and a hundred or more dear friends and acquaintences who are of the grateful many who might choose now to tumble forth a ‘Barb’ moment that brings a grin and puts a glint in the eye.
To Barb,
You will be missed but remembered completely.
We love you.
