We Remember

HUBBARD, Noel Alexander

July 31, 2026

Noel Alexander Hubbard passed suddenly and very unexpectedly on July 31, 2026, a few days before his 84th birthday.

Born in Vancouver, BC, to Stewart and Margaret Hubbard, Noel is survived by his wife, Betty; brother Wayne; children Cindy (Brad) and Kelly (Cyndi); grandchildren Courtney, Chelsey, and Aaron; and his great-granddaughter, Collins. He was predeceased by his younger brother Lyle.

Noel worked as a conductor at PGE/BC Rail for over 30 years and was respected in his field. Many of his co-workers became lifelong friends. His love of engines spread into his hobbies of snowmobiling, ATV-ing, and boating on his homemade pontoon boat. Noel especially loved these hobbies if they were enjoyed with friends and loved ones, where he could make everyone laugh and truly felt that having more people was merrier.

He spent his time exploring BC through his great love of fishing and camping, with a special knack for discovering lakes with his family that you couldn’t point to on a map. Through all of this, his most favourite is the time spent at Bednesti Lake in his retirement. After moving to the Okanagan to be closer to family, Noel enjoyed many rounds of golf at Birchdale Golf Course in Grindrod, BC, and passed on his love of the water to his granddaughters by taking them swimming and fishing.

Noel was very proud of his wife, kids, and grandkids and anyone that his life touched… He was a strong supporter of everything they did.

Noel will be remembered for his impressive green thumb, his well-worn flannel shirts, and by an ice-cold bottle of Molson Canadian.

The family would like to thank all of the staff from Osprey Court Long-Term Care for the care they provided Noel during his short time there, especially Nurse Kevin.

No service will be held as per Noel’s request.
