We Remember
SCHUPSKY, Linda Margaret
September 12, 1947 — August 15, 2026
On August 15, 2026, our Heavenly Father called His faithful servant Linda Margaret Schupsky home, surrounded by the love of her family in Kelowna, BC, at the age of 78. Linda was born on September 12, 1947, in Kamloops, BC, and lived a life devoted to Christ, her family, and the service of others.
Linda leaves behind a story of faith and love, survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Ed Schupsky. Children Kristie (Brian) Rutherford, Drake Schupsky (former spouse Sheri Schupsky). Grandchildren: Brittani (Mason) Buettner, Celine (Blake) Maciel, Jaela (Alex) Egert, and Kosten Schupsky. Great-grandchildren: Elora and Owen Buettner. Her brother Paul Backman and his wife Nancy Backman; their daughter Tessa Watson and her husband Mike Watson, and their children Bryson and Maya; their son Jordan Backman and his wife Tanya Backman, and their children Ava and Caden.
Linda began her working life with Woodword’s, having been raised in Kamloops, BC. She was then transferred to help at the Prince George, BC location, at just 19 years old. It was there that the Lord’s providence brought her together with Ed at church, and the two were united in marriage within ten months, a union that would flourish for nearly six decades.
Three years later, Linda and Ed were blessed with the beginning of their family. In 1974, they answered a calling and moved their young family to the Okanagan, where Ed continued his work in construction and Linda flourished in administration, becoming a skilled and gifted office administrator. In 2009, Linda received a 15-year service award from the Regional District of Central Okanagan, which continued until she retired 14 years ago. In 2001, Linda became a certified Reflexology Practitioner, and successfully built a long-standing clientele over the next 18 years. Above all, Linda will be remembered for the beautiful voice the Lord gave her, which she offered faithfully in worship, and for her heart of hospitality, forever finding joy in serving others. She loved to sew clothing, especially for her grandchildren. She excelled in her cooking and baking skills and at one time even had a bake-off with a friend and won the contest. She was always a loving, loyal, and a fair playing servant, in Christ’s name.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Empower Ministries.

Ed, we were sad to hear of Linda’s passing. Even when it’s expected, it is still really tough. It takes time to process the loss of a loved one, especially a spouse, remember you have friends to help you thru this difficult time.
Words cannot express how I feel about your having to lose your beloved Linda, wife of 59 years. My heart goes out to you Ed and I so hope that before too long all your wonderful memories together will begin to replace the pain you must be going through. “Goodbye” to one of my oldest and dearest friends. I will always remember her and love her for her vibrance, caring and kindness, and wonderful dinners ! She was a beautiful person, truly on the inside and out, and I too will miss her terribly. RIP Linda.

My deepest condolences to a dear friend Kristie Rutherford and family❤️
We were fortunate to be part of Ed and Linda‘s journey from the time that they met each other , even following them to Kelowna. There was a quiet beauty about Linda that was portrayed through her smile! One of our last visits was in Virginia when we went to Monticello together. She was enthralled with the beauty of the magnolia flowers! Every time I see a magnolia, it makes me think of her! We stand with you, Ed as you continue to serve Jesus, even though you are alone, you are a strong man and strong in spirit! The Lord will see us through and we will soon join dear Linda!
Special visits !! We shared LIFE together!!
